International Women's Day 2020

Here at Tutu du Monde, our aim is to inspire women around the world to raise free spirited, strong minded and independent girls who will help drive our future to a more equal, celebrated and inspiring world.

We believe that it can take a moment in time to change someone’s life, and in keeping with this year’s theme of “Collective Individualism”, we must all work in harmony to reach our one true goal - to create an equal world.

EMPOWER

With each garment that is crafted, our aim is to encourage the notion of freedom of speech through fashion, and express the importance of celebrating life’s achievements. We want a feeling of empowerment, strength and courage to blossom through each girl, when they step into our dresses.

celebrate

It is important that this International Women's Day we acknowledge, embrace and celebrate Women’s achievements – past, present and future. Collectively, we can work together, not just today, but every day of the year to ensure we are creating a unified world.

Equality

So, we are toasting to Women all around the world. To have the voice to speak up, the power to make change and the drive to create a gender equal future.

Together, let’s be more #eachforequal

International Women’s Day is an incredible opportunity to celebrate all women, embrace our communities, honor our progress and continue the fight for our rights. As a mother of two little girls, I try as hard as possible to educate them about the many women who fought for our rights and the importance of their own voices, passion, kindness and hope

I love that Women are being encouraged to be strong and independent! I teach my girls every day the importance of following their dreams and believing that they are strong because I know that this confidence will support them throughout the rest of their lives!

BOUTIQUE EVENTS AND PUBLIC RELATIONS

For a woman and a mother, there is no greater ideal that to set the stage for my daughter to live in a world where “Collective Individualism” is her way of life. It’s so vital that we recognize to lead by example and illustrate how acts of kindness lead to a greater appreciation of everything. For a mother to demonstrate that a considered and thoughtful approach in friendships is the foundation for how a young girl will develop into her adult relationships too. I honor International Women’s Day through the lens of Tutu Du Monde which has beautifully captured the magic of childhood dreams and with a level of thoughtful and compassionate on leadership they encourage us all to share the message of #eachforequal

My now 15 year old daughter who inspired me to start designing tutus over 10 years ago, is becoming her own person and is finding her own way in the world. A world so different to our own upbringing.

I believe and hope (and that’s my strategy) the best way to teach values is by living them; kindness, compassion, work ethic and honesty are amongst them. What she is constantly exposed to, will hopefully be absorbed over time.
