TDM x Fleur Harris | Behind the Collection

Introducing Woodlandia, our new magically whimsical collection designed in collaboration with Fleur Harris. Come follow us down the rabbit hole to a wonderful secret garden.

Pull up a pew, and sip on some tea in a land where whiskers twitch, and tails quiver. It’s a place where wishes are made, and imaginations run riot in the woodland grasses. It’s a place where ideas blossom, and dreams come true.

“I have always felt that there is a beautiful synergy between our brands in how we honour the magic of childhood by creating worlds that celebrate imagination, whimsy and joy,”

Revisiting Harris’ Woodland artworks, Woodlandia is a visual cornucopia that delights the eye, and ignites the imagination. It’s a topsy turvy world where not everything is as it seems. But then again, anything is real in our dreams…

Collaborating with the Tutu du Monde creative team brought an opportunity to build on my original artworks by experimenting with theatrical materials, sumptuous textures and luxurious hand embellished details.” - Fleur Harris

Standout pieces in the collection include the Woodland Dancer Tutu Dress, featuring a quirkily cute applique woodland tableau; and the Woodland Dreaming Dress—a departure from the brand’s signature tutu silhouette—showcasing the two exclusive prints heavily reprised throughout the collection.

The 40-piece collection includes tutu dresses, capes, tops, skirts, pants, and a raft of cute and quirky accessories which transport us to a magical world of woodland whimsy and wonder. Think Neverland meets Narnia, meets Wonderland, meets The Secret Garden. It’s a riot of floral and woodland prints combined with Tutu Du Monde’s signature pastel palette in delectably delicate shades like Porcelain Pink, Hydrangea, French Rose, Milk, and Gumnut.

The world of Tutu du Monde is truly magical, from their intricately detailed garments to the way they present them through the most breathtaking photoshoots.I have always felt that there is a beautiful synergy between our brands in how we honour the magic of childhood by creating worlds that celebrate imagination, whimsy and joy.

Who/where did you learn your creative skills?

My journey to where I am now has been full of creative adventure, lots of practice, and dedication to my artistic passions. I studied Fine Arts in Melbourne and in Italy, and studied Interior Design and Illustration too. I have worked on many different projects and with each I learn something new and grow as an artist and as a person.

What inspires your work and why?

Seeing the way my art can light up faces with joy, or make room more beautiful, or inspire people to have a go at making art themselves, are some of many reasons why I love making art. I often reflect on my own memories and the moments that inspired wonder and happiness in me, especially when I was a child. It is these memories and my love of the natural world and all it’s wonderful plants and animals that are the main inspiration for my ideas.

What has been one of your greatest achievements so far?

To see my prints come to life on Tutu du Monde garments is a dream come true! Working with Andrea and the lovely team behind the brand has been an absolute pleasure, and I am so heart warmed knowing that what we have created together will bring so much joy to little people all around the world.
